I love grime, been listening from way back but looking back on this Alhan was 100% right now in 2024. I get where Jaykae is coming from, his passion and length in the scene. But ultimately its hard to accept the genre that made you is dying. Anyhow Grime artists & the LOTM clashes will always be levels above any drill artists technically. We dont call them Drill MC's for a reason and why we did call them Grime MC's. Grimes influence from the emceeing in the jungle/garage days has history and class, drill does not and the lyrics are obviously pretty low IQ for the most part, no smart wordplay or clashing like grime days, just talking about cheffing up someone. Only thing i could say drill does better is maybe the producers, faster BPM, more intresting and diverse experimentation of sampling and the drill 808 slides are cold. Thats my take at least.
